I know Valentine's Day is not a Jewish Holiday, but with the recent postings for matchmaking both on this network and on the ModernJewishMom.com website, I thought it would be nice to have a "love" theme for February. I have several articles planned for the website from various columnists, but would love to include stories from readers about how they met their b'sheret. Any chance you all would log on and tell me your stories (and give me permission to re-print them on the website!)
BTW--this was not my idea--someone (ShannasMama perhaps?) posted this question on the MJMForum last year--so thank you!
Tu b'Av (15th of Av) is on the way-that's the "Jewish Valentine's Day" So maybe it's time to revive this discussion.
My DH and I did not make a very good first impression on one another to say the least. It took an act of G-d to get us together. The worst snow and ice storm of the decade had me snowed in at a friend's house. He called to ask her out and she told him to go out with me and handed me the phone! We talked and the rest is history~
I'm new here and had hoped to introduce myself first, but have yet to find an "intro" thread, so I'll start by answering this question. My husband and I met on a Jewish dating site (not J-Date) back in 2005. Neither of us was really actively looking for someone, but we were bored enough to both make profiles. I happened to be doing a search one day and his profile caught my eye. I sent him a message.. he sent me one back.. a couple of months later we had our first date and now we've been married over two years and have a 10 month old son.
