Jennifer, thanks for the link! I usually end up buying all my son's books due to my location. (which can get really expensive!) As I'll be moving back to the U.S. (Austin, TX) this summer, I'll definitely sign up for this.
Those books sound good. My son will be 5 son and he seems to be getting quite uncooperative lately. I'm not sure if it is a phase, but I wanted to avoid the same path and pattern from my "yelling" mother and have found a fabulous book with lots of...
Parenting doesn't come with a manuel, so why not learn tricks from Moms who have been down that road before. Let's catch those cuties doing good instead of punishing the bad!
Amy! I'm sorry that you feel that I was recommending being a doormat! Definitely not my intention. In the first post, I thought it was more about your in-laws not being respectful of your raising your kids Jewish and not wanting to spend holidays ...
I have to agree with Shoshanna! Kids are very impressionable at that age. I come from an Interfaith family (my father is Catholic and my mother is Jewish) and we went to Catholic Schools. Out of 6 kids only 2 of us identify as and are practicing J...
Amy, I feel for you! I know you don't feel like you should "give in" because you don't want them to "walk all over you", but I believe that you should try to be the bigger person and let your resentment go (for your childrens sake). If you feel li...
Greetings Kletterin. It's a pleasure. I enjoyed your pics. Best, Jody

What kinds of things do you want to talk about?
How to celebrate holidays and impart Jewish wisdom to my son. I want to raise my son with Jewish values even though I am married to a non-Jew.
About Me:
I was raised in an interfaith family and am two of six children who identify as Jewish. Although, I dated many Jewish men, I never found the "right" man for me. I have been practicing American Conservative Judaism since I was 19 (20 years ago). I am married to a German, who although raised a Catholic, considers himself Buddhist. He fully supports me in our journey to raise our son Jewish i.e. bris and other holidays are not only observed, but he participates as well. I have lived in Europe (England and Germany) for over 11 years now and will be repatriating back to the US this summer. There are not many congregations to choose from in Germany (as one can imagine) and the Orthodox community is not very welcoming to Interfaith families. Therefore, we celebrate our holidays and lifecycle events with the local Chabad. While I am not a Lubavitcher, I find them welcoming and open to Jews of all denominations.
